Surprise Visit from Pickleball Pro Thrills Local Students
Palm Springs, CA - In an unexpected turn of events, the students of Gerald Ford Elementary School were treated to a special visit from none other than the reigning world No. 1 pickleball player, Anna Leigh Waters, on March 7, 2024. Sponsored by FILA, the 17-year-old athlete delighted nearly 100 fifth-graders with an engaging Q&A session, a thrilling demonstration of pickleball skills, and an interactive clinic.
The excitement didn't end there! FILA, in their characteristic generosity, provided T-shirts for all attendees, adding to the thrill of the day. But the generosity didn't stop with FILA – Paddletek stepped up by donating 50 paddles, ensuring that the students had the equipment they needed to try their hand at the sport. Not to be outdone, Franklin Sports contributed 100 pickleballs, rounding out an unforgettable experience for the young pickleball enthusiasts.
